Crypto funds extend exodus to second week with $1.17B outflows

  • Crypto funds logged $1.17B outflows, extending losses amid weak sentiment and rate cut uncertainty.
  • Bitcoin and Ether led the decline, while short Bitcoin ETPs saw strongest inflows since May 2025.
  • Solana, XRP, and Hedera posted inflows, bucking the trend as crypto ETP assets fell to $207.5B.

Cryptocurrency investment products faced mounting selling pressure last week, marking a second consecutive week of capital outflows as investors continued to react to broader market weakness and shifting macroeconomic sentiment.

According to a Monday report from CoinShares, crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) recorded $1.17 billion in outflows for the week, a sharp increase of about 70% from the $360 million withdrawn the previous week.

The trend underscores the growing caution among digital asset investors amid ongoing volatility and uncertainty surrounding U.S. monetary policy.

Negative sentiment deepens after flash crash

James Butterfill, head of research at CoinShares, attributed the sustained sell-off to persistent negative sentiment across crypto markets following the October 10 flash crash.

He also pointed to investor uncertainty over whether the Federal Reserve might cut interest rates in December, which has added another layer of hesitation among market participants.

Despite the outflows, trading activity remained high.

CoinShares reported that ETP trading volumes stayed elevated at $43 billion for the week, indicating that investors are still actively repositioning amid the volatility.

There was a brief recovery midweek, with optimism building on Thursday as traders grew hopeful that progress on averting the US government shutdown could stabilize risk sentiment.

However, those hopes faded quickly, and renewed outflows returned by Friday, Butterfill noted.

Bitcoin and Ether lead outflows

Bitcoin continued to bear the brunt of the selling pressure.

Bitcoin ETPs saw $932 million in outflows, only marginally lower than the $946 million recorded in the previous week.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency has been struggling to regain positive momentum since early October, reflecting broader investor caution.

Ether (ETH) products also failed to hold their ground, reversing prior gains.

After recording $57 million in inflows the previous week, Ether funds posted $438 million in outflows, signaling that investors are not yet confident in the asset’s near-term performance.

Even short Bitcoin ETPs which benefit from declines in Bitcoin’s price, recorded $11.8 million in inflows, marking the strongest week for bearish Bitcoin products since May 2025.

Butterfill noted that this renewed interest in short positions underscores the deepening pessimism across digital asset markets.

Solana, XRP show resilience

Amid the broader downturn, a handful of altcoins managed to defy the selling trend.

Solana (SOL) stood out once again, attracting $118 million in inflows over the week.

According to CoinShares, Solana ETPs have now amassed $2.1 billion in inflows over the past nine weeks, highlighting sustained institutional interest in the blockchain network despite overall market weakness.

Other altcoins also showed resilience.

XRP (XRP) recorded $28 million in inflows, Hedera (HBAR) drew $27 million, and Hyperliquid (HYPE) added $4.2 million.

Overall, after two consecutive weeks of outflows totaling $1.5 billion, total assets under management (AUM) in crypto ETPs dropped to $207.5 billion, the lowest level since mid-July.

AUM had peaked at over $254 billion in early October, underscoring how quickly investor sentiment has shifted as macro and market headwinds continue to weigh on the digital asset sector.

Bitcoin’s $100,000 level turns from milestone to market stress point

  • Bitcoin’s $100K level turns from milestone to stress point amid fading crypto momentum.
  • Analyst Mike McGlone warns “extreme calm” in crypto and stocks may precede volatility.
  • Bitcoin’s strong link to Wall Street means stock turbulence could trigger crypto swings.

The cryptocurrency market is facing renewed pressure as Bitcoin struggles to maintain the $100,000 level—a price that once symbolized achievement but now represents uncertainty.

The total market capitalization has fallen to around $3.34 trillion, and key technical indicators suggest weakening momentum across digital assets.

Bitcoin currently trades near $102,405 after dipping below critical support and major moving averages, while Ethereum, Solana, and XRP also continue their downward trend.

A market growing too comfortable

According to Bloomberg’s senior macro strategist Mike McGlone, the $100,000 mark has evolved from a cause for celebration into a potential stress point.

In his latest analysis, McGlone describes the current market behavior as “unnaturally calm.”

Bitcoin, traditionally known for its volatility, has seen reduced movement even as it hovers around a psychologically important level.

McGlone warns that such stillness may not be sustainable.

He characterizes the market’s behavior as “extreme complacency,” noting that both equities and cryptocurrencies appear unusually stable.

His research compares Bitcoin’s 50-week moving trend with volatility measures such as the Cboe Volatility Index (VIX) and the S&P 500’s realized volatility.

The findings suggest that both markets are showing a rare degree of calm, something that, historically, precedes sharp fluctuations.

The VIX, often referred to as Wall Street’s “fear gauge,” typically averages around 19 over time.

McGlone predicts that a reversion toward that level could spark simultaneous turbulence in both traditional markets and digital assets.

“Periods of low volatility rarely last,” he cautioned, implying that investors may be underestimating potential risk.

Bitcoin enters “do or die” zone

Bitcoin’s price has repeatedly tested the $100,000 level after failing to sustain rallies beyond $110,000.

McGlone describes this stage as a “do or die” zone for the world’s largest cryptocurrency.

A successful defense of the $100,000 support level could mark the continuation of Bitcoin’s long-term uptrend, but a breakdown may send it closer to its long-term averages near $56,000.

Historically, similar moments have emerged midway through bull markets, when enthusiasm cools and the price corrects back to its trendline—a process analysts call “mean reversion.”

This cycle, McGlone notes, reflects the broader pattern of markets adjusting to their fundamental value after periods of exuberance.

Crypto still tied to Wall Street

Despite its reputation as “digital gold,” Bitcoin’s behavior remains closely linked to traditional financial markets.

The correlation between Bitcoin and the S&P 500 currently stands at around 0.53, suggesting that crypto continues to act like a high-beta tech asset rather than an independent store of value.

This tight relationship implies that volatility in US equities could spill over into digital assets.

For now, Bitcoin’s stability appears more a reflection of broader market calm than independent strength.

As McGlone observes, holding $100,000 is no longer a symbol of maturity but a test of resilience.

The coming weeks may determine whether Bitcoin cements its place as a durable global asset—or reveals that investor optimism has once again run ahead of reality.

Ripple announces $500M raise at $40 billion valuation

Ripple Raises $500 million
  • Ripple has raised $500 million in new funding round, at a $40 billion valuation.
  • Strategic investment signals strong confidence in XRP and Ripple USD stablecoin.
  • Momentum has seen Ripple close mega deals in 2025.

Ripple, the enterprise blockchain leader in cross-border payments, has secured a landmark $500 million strategic investment, with its valuation at $40 billion.

Led by global investment giants Fortress Investment Group and Citadel Securities, the raise signals investor confidence in Ripple and its expanding role in global finance.

Ripple raises $500 million funding round

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, as the crypto market grappled with sell-off pressure, Ripple delivered one of the biggest news .

The company announced it had secured $500 million in fresh funding, with the financing round valuing it at $40 billion.

Apart from Fortress Investment Group and Citadel Securities, participation attracted Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital, Brevan Howard, and Marshall Wace.

Overall, this is a funding move that marks one of the largest private financings in the blockchain sector this year.

The raise comes after Ripple’s recent $1 billion tender offer at the same valuation.

Meanwhile, it’s a move that caps what the firm and its leadership have described as the crypto industry giant’s strongest year on record.

Brad Garlinghouse, the chief executive officer of Ripple, described the funding as validation of Ripple’s long-term vision.

“This investment reflects both Ripple’s incredible momentum, and further validation of the market opportunity we’re aggressively pursuing by some of the most trusted financial institutions in the world,” he noted. “We started in 2012 with one use case – payments – and have expanded that success into custody, stablecoins, prime brokerage and corporate treasury, leveraging digital assets like XRP. Today, Ripple stands as the partner for institutions looking to access crypto and blockchain.”

Ripple will tap into the new capital to support key platfom initiatives.

These will include product development, global regulatory engagement, and expansion of Ripple’s liquidity solutions.

Also on card are the company’s stablecoin initiative and custody services.

Ripple continues mega growth trajectory

The capital injection arrives amid a banner stretch for Ripple.

Payment volumes on the XRP Ledger have surged, as has adoption for the firm’s regulated stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD).

Indeed, RLUSD recently surged past a $1 billion market cap.

Elsewhere, Ripple Prime, the institutional brokerage arm born from the acquisition of Hidden Road, is live.

These are only a few of the many milestones in Ripple’s transformation from a remittance-focused startup to a full-stack financial-technology provider.

In the past few months, the company has closed multiple deals, including those valued at $1 billion.

October’s purchase of GTreasury came after the earlier acquisition of Rail as Ripple looked to fortify its stablecoin footprint.

The company has also expanded its US presence with a New York trust charter earlier this year, enabling regulated custody and payment services.

Europe gets its first stablecoin infrastructure ETP as Virtune lists on Nasdaq and Xetra

Europe gets its first stablecoin infrastructure ETP as Virtune lists on Nasdaq and Xetra
  • The STABLE ETP is physically backed and rebalanced quarterly via Coinbase Custody.
  • Investors gain exposure to Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Chainlink, Stellar, and Aave.
  • Launch aligns with Europe’s MiCA regulation and Nasdaq’s digital asset strategy.

A Swedish crypto asset manager has launched Europe’s first exchange-traded product (ETP) dedicated to the infrastructure supporting stablecoins, marking a turning point for regulated digital asset investing in the region.

On November 5, Virtune AB listed its Virtune Stablecoin Index ETP on Nasdaq Stockholm, Nasdaq Helsinki, and Deutsche Börse Xetra.

The launch gives investors an opportunity to access the networks driving stablecoin adoption without directly holding the tokens themselves.

The first stablecoin infrastructure ETP in Europe

Trading under the Bloomberg ticker STABLE, the product is designed to capture value from the blockchains and crypto assets that underpin the growing stablecoin ecosystem.

On Nasdaq Stockholm and Helsinki, it trades as STABLE and STABLEE, respectively, while the Xetra listing uses the symbol VRTN.

The ETP is available to both institutional and retail investors through major brokers and banks, including Avanza, Nordnet, SAVR, Scalable Capital, Smartbroker, and Finanzen Zero.

Virtune describes the product as “the first of its kind” in Europe.

Unlike conventional crypto funds that hold stablecoins such as USDC or Tether, the STABLE ETP provides exposure to the blockchains where stablecoins operate.

It is 100% physically backed by digital assets stored securely with Coinbase Custody and is rebalanced quarterly to reflect market shifts.

The ETP carries a 1.95% annual management fee and supports trading in SEK and EUR.

Capturing the growth of the $314.5 billion stablecoin market

The stablecoin sector has grown rapidly over the past year, with financial institutions adopting tokenised money to facilitate round-the-clock settlements and faster cross-border transfers.

According to CoinMarketCap data, the total stablecoin market value stands at about $314.5 billion.

Euro-backed stablecoins, while still small in comparison, have reached a market capitalisation of $609.37 million, as per CoinGecko, led by Circle’s EURC, Stasis Euro, and Societe Generale’s EUR CoinVertible.

This expansion has encouraged European banks to experiment with their own digital currencies.

In September, nine banks, including UniCredit, Banca Sella, DekaBank, and ING, announced plans to launch a MiCA-compliant euro-backed stablecoin.

Virtune’s STABLE ETP arrives amid this momentum, offering investors a regulated avenue to participate in the wider stablecoin ecosystem.

A bridge between traditional finance and digital assets

By focusing on blockchain infrastructure rather than the stablecoins themselves, Virtune’s ETP aims to diversify risk while capturing growth potential from multiple networks.

The index is weighted using the square root of market capitalisation, a method designed to prevent dominance by larger assets and to maintain balanced exposure across the ecosystem.

For investors, the STABLE ETP represents a gateway into crypto infrastructure via a regulated vehicle.

It eliminates the need to manage private keys or digital wallets while still providing participation in the networks driving stablecoin use in payments, banking, and commerce.

The ETP also aligns with Nasdaq’s broader strategy to expand its range of digital asset products within a transparent regulatory framework.

Helena Wedin, Head of ETF and ETP Services for European Markets at Nasdaq, said the exchange’s goal is to encourage innovation in a secure marketplace.

The listing of Virtune’s product, she noted, highlights the growing maturity of the ETP sector and its importance in linking traditional investors to blockchain-based opportunities.

What Virtune’s launch signals for Europe

The introduction of STABLE marks a significant milestone for European digital asset markets, which are now operating under the new MiCA regulation.

It underscores a shift from speculative crypto products toward infrastructure-focused investments that mirror the real-world utility of blockchain technology.

By packaging stablecoin infrastructure into a regulated exchange-traded product, Virtune has provided a blueprint for how digital assets can coexist with mainstream financial systems.

As more financial institutions explore tokenised money and on-chain settlements, products such as the Virtune Stablecoin Index ETP could serve as benchmarks for future innovation.

In a market driven by efficiency, transparency, and accessibility, Virtune’s launch demonstrates how Europe’s financial ecosystem is evolving to embrace the technology powering the next generation of digital finance.

ZKsync price jumps above $0.06 with 87% weekly gains amid major token utility overhaul

ZKsync Price Gains
  • ZKsync price gained by 11% and hit a high of $0.068.
  • Gains came as bulls hold steady and weekly uptick climbs to 87% amid Atlas upgrade.
  • ZKsync has also received endorsement from Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

ZKsync surged by more than 11% in intraday gains on November 5, 2025 to hit highs above $0.068 as upbeat sentiment held.

With key announcements regarding major enhancements to ZK token utility, the altcoin’s price has extended gains to over 87% in the past week.

Renewed interest in the token has also come amid a key boost by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

ZKsync price extends weekly gains to 87%

Despite a widespread downturn in the cryptocurrency market, ZKsync’s ZK token has demonstrated impressive strength.

Bulls defied the crash to reach new highs of $0.068, with an 11% price increase that also boasted a 21% spike in daily trading volume for ZK.

Per CoinMarketCap, ZKsync’s daily volume hit an impressive $499 million over the past 24 hours.

Like Aster, Bitget Token and Hyperliquid, ZK Bulls are showing resilience. It trades near $0.061, off intraday highs but still above session lows of $0.049.

Analysts suggest that ZK’s ability to hold steady as trading volumes remain elevated may allow bulls to target $0.10, a level last seen in March.

Notably, ZK has traded in a downtrend since rejecting highs of $0.26 in early December, 24..

ZKsync token to get major utility overhaul

The catalyst behind ZK’s recent rally looks to be the community’s reaction to a proposed upgrade that seeks a comprehensive overhaul of ZK token utility.

Atlas upgrade brings this possibility, a major enhancement set to amplify the ZK token’s functionality.

By expanding the token’s use cases, the upgrade aims to create a more robust economic model, where ZK serves not only as a governance tool but also as a conduit for value accrual from off-chain activities.

“This proposal presents a high-level direction for $ZK token utility,” said Alex Gluchowski, founder of ZKsync and CEO of Matter Labs.

He elaborated on the strategic intent, noting that the changes are designed to unify on-chain and off-chain value flows.

“Under this proposal, value generated from such enterprise components would flow into the same governance-controlled mechanism as on-chain value. In practice, this means establishing structures through which licensing-based revenue can return to the network and enter the same ZK buyback and allocation pathways, preserving a single unified economic loop,” the ZKsync co-founder noted.

Also buoying ZKsync price this past week has been a recent endorsement from Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

Buterin’s public support has added significant credibility, emphasizing the protocol’s alignment with Ethereum’s scaling vision and its potential to drive mass adoption.

The Ethereum co-founder has long advocated for zero-knowledge technology, which is ZKsync’s focus.

As the ecosystem matures, stakeholders anticipate increased DeFi activity.

Bitcoin and Ether ETFs record fifth consecutive day of outflows as crypto prices remain under pressure

Bitcoin tumbles 12% on new tariffs, but experts see potential 21% rebound as October historically favors recovery.

  • Bitcoin and Ether ETFs record fifth consecutive day of outflows.

  • Solana funds attract inflows despite broader crypto market weakness.

  • Bitcoin stabilises near $100,000 after a sharp correction earlier this week.

Spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw significant capital withdrawals on Tuesday, marking their fifth consecutive day of outflows.

The losses came even as Solana-linked funds continued to attract investor inflows, extending their streak to six days.

According to data from Farside Investors, spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $566 million in net outflows—their largest single-day withdrawal since mid-October.

Data from Farside Investors.

ARKB and Fidelity’s FBTC led the redemptions, reflecting sustained selling pressure following last week’s market correction.

Ether ETFs followed a similar trajectory, posting $219 million in net outflows on Tuesday.

Fidelity’s FETH and BlackRock’s ETHA products accounted for the majority of redemptions.

The five-day withdrawal streak has now drained nearly $1 billion from Ether-linked ETFs since late October, underscoring waning investor sentiment toward the asset amid persistent volatility.

Solana defies market gloom

In contrast, Solana funds continued to post gains. Spot Solana ETFs saw $14.83 million in net inflows on Tuesday, marking their sixth straight day of positive capital movement.

Bitwise’s BSOL and Grayscale’s GSOL each contributed to the increase.

The steady inflows suggest institutional traders are rotating funds into Solana-based products, which have gained traction as yield-bearing alternatives within the digital asset market.

The positive momentum stands out amid an otherwise bearish environment for major cryptocurrencies and related investment products.

Crypto prices show signs of stabilisation

After sharp declines earlier in the week, top cryptocurrencies appear to be stabilising.

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Ripple (XRP) were consolidating near key support levels on Wednesday, as traders reassessed positions following heightened volatility.

Bitcoin price faced rejection around a broken trendline on Monday and dropped 8.18% by Tuesday, retesting the 50% retracement level at $100,353.

As of Wednesday, BTC was holding slightly above $102,000, suggesting potential recovery if the $100,353 level continues to act as strong support.

Ethereum also mirrored the broader recovery trend. The asset fell 15.73% after facing resistance at the 100-day exponential moving average (EMA) of $3,928 earlier in the week.

By Wednesday, ETH had rebounded after retesting the 50% retracement level at $3,171. If this support holds, analysts expect a possible move toward the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level near $3,593.

While the recent correction has dampened momentum across the crypto market, stabilising prices and selective fund inflows into Solana suggest that investor sentiment remains cautiously constructive in certain segments of the digital asset space.

Altcoins today: Perpetual tokens shed over $2B as ETH slips under $3.5K

Altcoins today: Perpetual coins shed over $2B as ETH slips under $3.5K
  • Alts suffered a bloodbath on Tuesday as Ethereum surrendered a key level.
  • Perpetual tokens lost over $2B amid broader sell-offs.
  • New US sanctions on North Korea fuel fears of stiffer crypto regulations.

Digital assets saw another dip today, as Bitcoin fell to $102,425 after losing nearly 4% of its value over the past 24 hours.

Altcoins extended their declines as Ethereum plummeted by over 6% to $3,401.

The global cryptocurrency market lost 3% the previous day to $3.43 trillion.

Amidst the broader bloodbath, tokens linked to perpetual decentralized exchanges appeared to suffer the most.

According to Coingecko data, the value of perp tokens reduced from $18.511 billion to $16.381 billion in the last 24 hours.

That’s a roughly 13% dip, reflecting significant bearishness within a sector that many anticipate to shape the next stage of crypto evolution.

Top tokens in the category, including ASTER, HYPE, and JUP, have lost more than 10% of their value within the past day.

Perpetual tokens exhibit heavy selling pressure, signaling more downtrends before potential bounce-backs.

Sanctions stir uncertainty over regulation

The cryptocurrency market has experienced faded sentiments lately.

Various developments contribute to the current bearish mode.

For instance, the Fed Governor magnified uncertainty over December interest rates with his latest remarks on Bloomberg Surveillance.

Also, bears thrived after the DeFi platform Balancer suffered an over $100 million hack.

Further, Stream Finance’s decision to freeze withdrawals and subsequent de-peg of its stablecoin added fuel to the fire.

The US Treasury Department crashed the struggling market after announcing new sanctions targeting North Korean crypto activities.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control confirmed sanctions against entities and individuals involved in information technology worker fraud and crypto-associated crime used to fund North Korea’s missile programs.

The post detailed:

Over the past three years, North Korea-affiliated cybercriminals have stolen over $3 billion in cryptocurrency. Often using sophisticated techniques such as advanced malware and social engineering.

Meanwhile, the announcement triggered panic across the markets as it hinted at stiffer cryptocurrency regulations and possibly aggressive enforcement moves.

Such developments might catalyze a regulatory domino effect where DeFi projects and exchanges face intensified scrutiny.

Market players potentially began reducing exposure as the sanctions updates surfaced, accelerating the broader sell-offs.

Crypto market outlook

The cryptocurrency market displays substantial selling pressure.

Coinglass data shows liquidations surged past $1 billion over the past 24 hours.

Long positions suffered the most at $845 million, with shorts at $183 million.

Bitcoin lost the key support zone at $107,500 during the latest decline from weekly highs of above $115,300.

It looks poised for extended dips to the psychological level at $100,000 before setting a clear trajectory.

Thus, altcoins, including perpetual tokens, will likely plummet further from their current price levels before stabilizing and potentially bouncing back.

DeFi platform Stream Finance pauses all activity after revealing $93M loss

Stream Finance halts operations after $93 million loss
  • Its stablecoin, Staked Stream USD (XUSD), has fallen to $0.2975, according to CoinGecko data.
  • The depegging followed a $100 million exploit on Balancer, an automated market maker.
  • Stream Finance also faced questions about TVL discrepancies with DefiLlama’s figures.

Stream Finance, a decentralised finance (DeFi) platform specialising in yield-generating strategies, has paused all deposits and withdrawals after an external fund manager reported a $93 million loss in its managed assets.

The incident has triggered scrutiny across the DeFi ecosystem, raising questions about risk exposure and transparency among platforms offering high yields through complex strategies.

The Stream Finance team confirmed the loss in an X post on Monday, saying the fund manager disclosed it a day earlier.

The project has since hired lawyers from Perkins Coie to conduct an independent investigation into the matter.

Withdrawals suspended as Stream moves to recover assets

According to Stream Finance, it is currently withdrawing all liquid assets and expects the process to be completed soon.

The team stated that periodic updates will follow as more information becomes available.

While the investigation continues, the platform has suspended withdrawals and stopped processing any pending deposits, effectively freezing user funds until clarity is reached.

Stream Finance’s statement on X read, “We are actively withdrawing all liquid assets and expect this process to be completed in the near term.”

The platform said users would be kept informed through regular updates.

Stream stablecoin XUSD loses peg

Stream Finance operates as a “recursive looping” yield-focused protocol, and it also issues a collateralised stablecoin called Staked Stream USD (XUSD).

Before the team’s public announcement, XUSD had already started to depeg from its $1 target, signalling growing concern among users.

On Sunday, community members noticed that deposits and withdrawals had been paused without prior communication from the team.

As speculation intensified, XUSD slipped below its target range, plunging to as low as $0.51, according to CoinGecko data.

At the time of writing, XUSD is currently priced at $0.2975 and is down by 76.4% in the last 24 hours, marking one of the steepest single-day declines among stablecoins this year.

XUSD
Source: CoinGecko

Omer Goldberg, founder of Labs, posted on X roughly 10 hours before Stream Finance’s official statement that XUSD had begun to depeg “materially below its target range.”

Goldberg linked the event to an over $100 million exploit on Balancer, an automated market maker platform.

The timing between the Balancer exploit and Stream Finance’s reported loss has prompted market observers to draw parallels between liquidity management vulnerabilities and asset exposure risks across DeFi platforms.

TVL discrepancies add to transparency concerns

On Friday, prior to the loss announcement, Stream Finance addressed community concerns regarding discrepancies between its total value locked (TVL) figures displayed on its website and those reported by DefiLlama.

Stream Finance explained on X that DefiLlama excluded recursive looping from its TVL calculations, stating, “DefiLlama has decided that recursive looping is not TVL per their own definitions.

We disagree with this, but to be transparent to users, the website now makes a distinction between user deposits (~$160M) and total assets deployed across strategies (~$520M).”

This clarification highlighted how variations in data methodology can create uncertainty in assessing DeFi protocol exposure.

Analysts have pointed out that mismatched reporting standards across DeFi platforms can obscure the true level of leverage in yield-generation models.

CoinDCX’s head of DeFi Ecosystem Growth, Minal Thurkal, commented that the case underlines the “critical importance of understanding exactly how protocols generate yield and the significant risks involved in complex DeFi strategies.”

She added that projects diverging from recognised metrics like DefiLlama’s TVL calculations can amplify transparency challenges for users and investors alike.

Broader DeFi implications

The Stream Finance incident comes amid growing regulatory attention to DeFi protocols and stablecoin risk management.

Depegging events, such as XUSD’s recent drop, often erode market confidence and prompt liquidity withdrawals across decentralised platforms.

As DeFi continues to expand beyond early adopters, incidents like this emphasise the fragility of complex yield structures and the urgent need for standardised transparency frameworks.

With Stream Finance’s investigation ongoing, the broader ecosystem will be closely monitoring how the project manages asset recovery and user compensation.

BitMine doubles down on Ethereum as ETH holdings hit 3.4 million

Ethereum price forecast
  • BitMine buys 82,353 Ethereum tokens as holdings reach 3.4 million.
  • Crypto and cash treasury stands at $13.7 billion.
  • BitMine hits 2.8% of the targeted 5% of the Ethereum supply.

BitMine Immersion Technologies, a leader in cryptocurrency mining and advanced cooling solutions, has significantly bolstered its position in the digital asset space.

The company has revealed a substantial increase in its Ethereum (ETH) reserves.

BitMine ETH holdings hit 3.4 million

BitMine’s increasing commitment to Ethereum is again evident following another buy-the-dip move.

Despite price declines, the publicly-listed company has bumped up its holdings to become the world’s second-largest corporate treasury strategy.

Thomas Lee of Fundstrat, and chairman of BitMine, noted:

“We increased our cash holdings to $389 million (from $305 million) and acquired 82,353 ETH tokens over the past week pushing our ETH holdings to 3.4 million, or 2.8% of the supply of ETH. We are now more than halfway towards our initial pursuit of the ‘alchemy of 5%’ of ETH.”

BitMine now owns 2.8% of the ETH supply, a milestone that sees the company surpass the halfway mark of the targeted 5%.

BitMine has amassed its ETH holdings strategically over the past several months, capitalising on ETH’s low price and growing ecosystem.

When combined with its Bitcoin reserves of 192 BTC valued at $62 million, and cash of $389 million, BitMine’s overall crypto and cash holdings have surged to $13.7 billion.

Interest in ETH is growing

BitMine is among a growing number of publicly listed firms shifting away from their traditional operations, including cryptocurrency mining, as they diversify in response to broader digital asset adoption.

Wall Street has seen a marked increase in such pivots, with several companies aiming to emulate the approach that established Strategy as the world’s leading corporate crypto treasury.

Analysts note that BitMine’s move, along with similar strategies by peers, reflects rising institutional interest in the sector.

The approval of Ethereum exchange-traded funds in 2024 has drawn billions of dollars into the asset, while corporate treasury strategies — particularly those involving staking in tokens like ETH and SOL — have emerged as the next phase in the digital asset expansion.

BitMine’s milestone reinforces Ethereum’s enduring appeal, potentially setting a benchmark for peer firms eyeing similar diversification.

And Lee says the recent price dip offered a reset that could prove key for the Ethereum price.

“Crypto suffered its largest ever liquidation event on October 10th, and open interest on ETH (per coinalyze.net fell -45% in the past 8 weeks (the largest ever decline in the history of ETH). This reset is healthy and sets the stage for price and fundamentals to eventually converge,” Lee stated.

Ethereum’s price hovered at $3,622 on November 3, 2025, down 6% in the past 24 hours and 14% in the past week.

Zcash price hits new all-time high: how high can the ZEC price climb?

Zcash price hits new all-time high
  • Zcash price hits a new peak, flipping Monero as the top privacy coin.
  • Celebrity endorsements and short squeezes fuel ZEC’s massive rally.
  • Rising wedge pattern formation hints at a possible 30% correction ahead.

The Zcash price has defied the broader crypto market downturn, soaring to new heights and capturing global attention.

The ZEC price just surged to an eight-year high, marking one of the strongest rallies among major privacy coins this year.

With growing investor interest, celebrity endorsements, and accelerating adoption of privacy technologies, Zcash has reemerged as a powerful force in the cryptocurrency market.

Privacy demand ignites Zcash price rally

Zcash (ZEC) has skyrocketed 89% over the past two weeks, hitting a new all-time high (ATH) of $388 and flipping Monero (XMR) to become the most valuable privacy-focused cryptocurrency.

At a market capitalisation of around $6.2 billion, Zcash now stands as the leading altcoin in the privacy sector.

Notably, the surge in the ZEC price reflects a wave of renewed demand for privacy coins amid rising global concerns about data surveillance and financial transparency.

Over 4.5 million ZEC, roughly 28% of the total supply, are now held in shielded addresses using Zcash’s zk-SNARK privacy protocol.

Shielded ZEC supply
Source: ZecHub Dashboard

This milestone marks the highest level of private holdings since 2021, signalling increased trust and usage of ZEC’s privacy technology.

Shielded coins tend to remain off exchanges longer, reducing liquid supply and adding upward pressure to the Zcash price.

Celebrity endorsements and short squeezes fuel the momentum

Besides the privacy coins demand, a significant percentage of the excitement surrounding the ZEC token can also be traced to high-profile endorsements.

Renowned investor Naval Ravikant described Zcash as “insurance against Bitcoin” in early October, triggering a massive 60% daily price jump.

Soon after, Helius co-founder Mert Mumtaz floated a $1,000 target, while BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes predicted that the ZEC price could rise to $10,000.

Each endorsement fueled further gains and drew new investors to the privacy coin sector.

The rally has also been amplified by an influx of short liquidations.

In the past two weeks alone, ZEC futures recorded approximately $65 million in liquidations — more than half from short positions.

This created a classic short squeeze, forcing bearish traders to close positions as prices climbed higher.

Retail investors followed suit, with Google search trends for “Zcash” spiking in late October as fear of missing out (FOMO) took hold.

The feedback loop between short liquidations and rising retail demand has propelled the ZEC token into one of the most dramatic recoveries of 2025.

Zcash price forecast

From a technical perspective, Zcash remains in a strong position but faces short-term risks.

The ZEC price trades well above its 7-day simple moving average of $332.01 and its 200-day exponential moving average near $96.68.

Indicators such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and MACD point to strong bullish momentum, though both are approaching overbought levels.

The current $370–$400 zone represents a critical resistance area, and a sustained breakout could set the stage for a move toward $450.

However, chart analysts have identified a rising wedge pattern — typically a precursor to corrections — that could lead to a 30% pullback toward the $260–$270 support range if momentum weakens.

The immediate support level to watch is $304.32, according to CoinLore’s analysis, which, if breached, could lead to a further decline to the next support level at $296.96, and further to the $260–$270 support range.

But despite these technical warning signs, market sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive.

Zcash’s +900% year-to-date rally demonstrates deep investor conviction and a structural shift in the market’s perception of privacy coins.

While whales have taken partial profits, on-chain data shows that the number of ZEC holders has surged by more than 60% in the past week, underscoring continued retail participation.
